Some never arrived at all. The mayor posted a simple job: find the cause. Five strangers answered. Kastraer Deepmantle, a dwarven paladin and scholar of cultures beyond the mountain halls. Arum, a quiet forest survivor whose strange magic felt both natural and arcane. Fang, a silent wood-elf hunter who moved through forests like a shadow. Durgan, a miner who carried a massive pickaxe that had spent decades splitting stone. And Runt—a gentle ogre hiding his nature behind illusion and awkward attempts at appearing human.
